Scientific calculator
A scientific calculator, built in
In the app, open About › Tools › Scientific Calculator: Basic, Graph, Stats and Sensors modes, 129 functions you can call by name, and a searchable Function Reference that shows each function’s formula and, where a quantity has a unit, the unit each input takes.

A sample from the calculator registry
A sample of the 129 functions in the app’s built-in calculator, with the units each input takes.
- Physics
kinVelocity(v0, a, t)Units: v0 (m/s) · a (m/s²) · t (s) → m/sKinematics: velocity at time t
- Physics
newtonForce(m, a)Units: m (kg) · a (m/s²) → NNewton’s second law: force
- Physics
gravitationForce(m1, m2, r)Units: m1 (kg) · m2 (kg) · r (m) → NNewton’s law of universal gravitation: force between two masses
- Physics
dragForce(v, Cd, A, ρ)Units: v (m/s) · Cd (dimensionless) · A (m²) · ρ (kg/m³) → NQuadratic (Newtonian) drag force on an object moving through a fluid
- Physics
idealGasPressure(n, T, V)Units: n (mol) · T (K) · V (m³) → PaIdeal gas law: pressure
- Physics
pendulumPeriod(L, g)Units: L (m) · g (m/s²) → sSimple harmonic motion: small-angle pendulum period
- Units and angles
celsiusToFahrenheit(x)Units: x (°C) → °FConvert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit
- Units and angles
degToMrad(x)Units: x (°) → mradConvert degrees to milliradians (× π/180 × 1000)
- Position and height
utmEasting(lat, lon)Units: lat (°) · lon (°) → mUTM easting of a WGS 84 latitude and longitude in degrees, from 80°S to 84°N
- Position and height
heightAboveGround(h, ground)Units: h (m) · ground (m) → mHeight above ground (AGL): altitude minus ground elevation, both above the same reference
- Color science
correlatedColorTemperatureMcCamy(x, y)Units: x (dimensionless) · y (dimensionless) → KCorrelated color temperature from CIE 1931 xy chromaticity (McCamy’s 1992 cubic approximation)
- Tone and color
frequencyToHueDegrees(f, fRef)Units: f (Hz) · fRef (Hz) → °Audio frequency to OKLCH hue: a designed octave-to-hue mapping, independent of angle mode
- Linear algebra
det3(a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i)3×3 matrix determinant
- Loans
loanPayment(B, r, n)Level monthly payment for balance B at APR r % over n months
det3 works on plain numbers, and loanPayment’s summary names its own units (an APR in percent and a number of months), so the app shows no unit line for them. Units say what each input expects: the calculator doesn’t carry units through an expression you type, so typed results show no unit.
